praying
We need everybody praying.
Would you begin to ask the Lord what part you can play in helping us write our next chapter? Prayer is the covering that the ‘Everybody’ vision needs in order to be successful.
Here is how you can connect through prayer:
- pray for clear direction as we look to the future. Pray for God to make clear his leading and for our hearts to be open and willing to listen.
My Everybody Prayer List
We want you to start praying for the people in your lives. List out 4 people you are willing to commit to praying. Below you’ll find a prayer you can use each day.
The desire of my heart is for my friends and family to understand the greatness of God. I want them to come into relationship with You. Therefore, Lord I make myself available to pray for them daily; to have my words and my actions match the truth You have revealed to me. God give me boldness, grace and mercy. Let my heart be ruled by love and compassion.
Please draw them to Yourself!
These are the people in my life, my everybody list that I want to make sure know and understand how to spend eternity with You.
serving
We need everybody serving.
This is the time for everybody to do their part.
We need everybody involved in some area of service in the church in order to position ourselves for impact. If you already serve – thank you.
If not, now is the time to get connected.
To find out what part you can play please attend one of our ‘Next Steps’ night.
‘Next Steps’ nights are scheduled the third Sunday evening of each month from 6:30-8:30pm.
sharing
We need everybody sharing.
Jesus told us that He came to ‘seek and save the lost’ (Luke 19:10).
Our response should be no different.
As a church we exist for everybody believing that ‘none should perish…’ (2 Peter 3:9).
Who in your life needs to hear about how much God loves them?
Who in your realm of influence do you wish would become a follower of Christ?
Who has God placed on your heart?
This is ultimately what the ‘Everybody’ Vision is all about; introducing people to Jesus Christ.
giving
We need everybody giving.
Whether we want to acknowledge it or not ministry takes money Kingdom work involves finances and God chooses to build His Kingdom through the generosity of His followers.
We know that when Everybody sacrificially gives then finances take care of themselves. That is why we are asking you to take a financial faith step and clearly communicate your commitment to helping fund the vision.
questions
What is a multi-site church?
A multi-site church is one church that meets at multiple locations.
How will this impact our Promontory location?
It won’t. We are fully committed in our efforts to impact the Promontory hillside. It is where we began and we still have lots of work to do to reach that community. The Promontory site will still offer everything you experience today. By going multisite we actually position ourselves to have a greater impact as 70% of our attendees come from the valley floor and beyond. This has limited our ability to reach people who live on Promontory. By going multi-site we automatically open up hundreds of seats for new people to fill.
Would it not be better to secure land on Promontory and then build a facility?
We have never been opposed to building on Promontory in fact we have looked and even tried making some offers on land. However, the cost of land is very high and for the amount of land we need it is very limited. The development team has spent the last two years looking at any and every opportunity available to them and through due diligence and God’s leading feel that a multisite model is the most
effective option to pursue.
Why a building in Downtown Chilliwack?
There are a number of reasons why we are pursuing a downtown facility. The most important reason is that there is a need. We believe that we have an opportunity to be a catalyst for change in the downtown core. Imagine a church located in downtown Chilliwack where every week thousands of people come to worship, minister, serve and grow. Imagine the impact that would have as we commit to supporting local merchants, restaurants and coffee shops. Imagine what we could do in helping the homeless and hurting in the area. The City of Chilliwack has worked tirelessly trying to change the downtown – we believe the local church and the message of Jesus Christ is the answer to rejuvenating not just buildings, but also peoples hearts and lives.
How much will it cost?
We anticipate that the project will be between 2.5-3.5 million dollars.
How will we pay for it?
By everybody doing their part! In fact, we already have the money. It’s in the pockets and bank accounts of those who call PCC their home. Let us explain. Through our research over the last 6 months we have discovered
some disturbing and exciting facts. Consider the following:
- 4.98% of our adult population tithe (give 10% of their income)
- 95.02% of our adult contributors give less than 10%.
- 77% of our yearly budget comes from 12% of adult contributors
Although these stats may be disconcerting the good news is that God has positioned us as a church to test His faithfulness in our lives. Our hope and prayer is that the 95% of people who give less than 10% will increase their giving to the level of the tithe and for those who have been faithful to go beyond. If even 40 people increased their giving to 10% of their income we would be well within our means to move forward with a project like this.
